This summer's the coldest in my history
It's creeping in my bones, the sun's never here
Can't imagine growing up in this ugly place
Every shadow speaks of hate and fear
The summers of my youth were clear and warm
Hiding behind them, pointing and jeering
But the worm turned in both of us
Our victim grew, now he's the one steering
I'm the Dark Lord's right hand man
And he's the left and hates the the sight of me
I was there in the Shrieking Shack
Full of echoes of him hanging from that tree
I saw the murder in his eyes
He's the Dark Lord's servant but he might
Carry on his hatred over to me
And I was never that good in a fight
Sometimes I think there is more to it
Than childhood battles and humilations
Treating me like a household drudge
And as if not killing me takes concentration
I creep around and I can barely breathe
I've given more than he ever could
I'm listening at doors and twitching at noise
I bet he thinks he's just misunderstood
I'm the Dark Lord's right hand man
And he's the left and hates the the sight of me
I was there in the Shrieking Shack
Full of echoes of him hanging from that tree
I saw the murder in his eyes
He's the Dark Lord's servant but he might
Carry on his hatred over to me
And I was never that good in a fight
Yeah, this should be considered a wizard rock classic. Here, Lauren (originally one half of the Moaning Myrtles) sings from the alternating points of view of Severus and Lily in a chronological series of songs inspired by a single chapter of Deathly Hallows. More upbeat songs like 'This Is It' are contrasted with moodier ones like 'Lose You' and 'Freak', and the way the characters develop throughout the songs is shown well. A very relistenable collection. yourwizardrockresource
Delicious (sorry) introduction to The Butterbeer Experience! There are a few classics on here, like 'Alone' and 'Chapter 34', that are among equally lovable gems like 'Greater Good' and 'Lullaby'. yourwizardrockresource
Alex Henry Foster again collaborates with Canadian-Japanese artist Momoka, who also translates the lyrics from English to Japanese. Bandcamp New & Notable May 7, 2024
A gorgeous second album that holds up well to the high standard set by the first. The sweet love songs are back, along with an ode to Ron Weasley, a gorgeous metawrock song (and I'm not usually a big fan of metawrock), a couple of spiritual successors to songs from the debut album and one of my favourite DH Chapter 34 songs ever, among other gems. The fact that Avery is a songwriting genius cannot be understated. yourwizardrockresource
